The mark of the anchor chain(1)

Anchor chain mark is a mark indicating the number of anchor chain links painted on the connecting chain link (or connecting shackle) and its adjacent chain links. It is used to know and master the length of anchor chain outside the ship or in the water in time when throwing and lifting anchor.

The retaining anchor chain connected by connecting chain link is usually marked by the following methods (as shown in Figure 8):
