Chain Grapnel Hook

Chain grapnel hooks are used for recovering an anchor and chains that have been detached from the buoy and have fallen to the seabed. The head eye of the grapnel is attached to the trawl cable and the tail eye may be attached to the trailing cable for the purpose of withdrawing the grapnel in the event that the flukes engage with an “immovable” object on the sea bed. Types of vessel

Tankers
Tankers are vessels that carry liquids in bulk.
Aframax
80,000-120,000 dwt- only carry crude oil.
Chemical tanker Usually vary from 5,000-40,000 dwt. They carry small parcels of high value chemicals.
Liquid natural gas (LNG) Vary in size from under 20,000 dwt to over 130,000. They only carry natural gas in liquid form.
Liquid petroleum gas (LPG) These vary in size, but are usually around 80,000 dwt.
The carry liquefied petroleum gas- such as butane and propane –and a small selection of other liquefied gases like ammonia.
Product tanker Vary from 10,000-100,000dwt. They usually carry refined petroleum products (white oils) and black oils in greater volumes than chemical tankers do.
Suezmas 120,000-200,000 dwt. Only carry crude oil. They are the largest vessels capable of passing through the Suez Canal.
VLCC(very large crude carrier)Up to 200,000 dwt. They only carry crude oil.
ULCC(Ultra large crude carrier)
Bulkers, or bulk carriers, are vessels that carry bulk solids.

Capsize
These are 80,000 dwt and over. They normally carry cargoes such as iron ore, coal and so on.
Panamax
50,000-80,000 dwt typical cargoes include coal, fertilizer and so on. They are the largest vessels which can pass through the Panama Canal.
Handymax
35,000-50,000 dwt. They carry a wide range of bulk cargoes such as fertilizer, scrap etc.
Handysize
10,000-35,000 dwt. They carry general bulk solids.
OBO
OBO stands for ‘ore/bulk/oil’ and the vessels are sometimes called combined carriers. They can carry solids (ore and bulk cargoes) and crude oil, but not at the same time.
PROBO
PROBO stands for ‘product ore/bulk/oil’. They carry the same cargo as OBOs, but can also carry refined petroleum products. This is because the cargo holds are usually coated with a cargo tank coating.
Container ship
These carry a cargo of containers on scheduled routes. Size is normally measured in teu (the size of a 20 foot standard container). The biggest can be up to 8100 teu.
General cargo
These are small vessels carrying a wide range of paletted and individual cargoes-for instance, machinery, drums, bags and so on.
RORO
RORO stands for ‘roll on, roll off’. These vessels carry road and rail vehicles and can be unloaded by wheeled transport.
Car carrier
Car carrier, or vehicle carriers, carry newly manufactured cars.
Reefer
Reefers are refrigerated cargo vessels. They are similar to general cargo vessels, but the holds are refrigerated. They usually carry perishable foods like and meat.
FPSO
FPSO are floating production storage and offloading vessels. They take crude oil from undersea wells, process it and store it before loading it into tankers to be carried to a refinery or land storage.
Passenger ship
Vessels either carrying passengers between ports (a ferry) or for pleasure (a cruise vessel).
Miscellaneous
There are a number of vessels designed to carry the particular type of cargo they named after- for instance, wood chip carrier, cement carrier. They have a similar design to tankers (for specialize liquids) or bulkers (for particular cargoes). They are also likely to have specialized equipment.

he seabed, which requires additional power, especially if the nets are equipped with disturbing chains to churn up the sea floor. The construction and equipment of these fishing vessels strongly depend on the fishing method and the species of fish aimed at. The most important types of trawlers are the cutter and the stern trawler.
Possible cargo: cooled fish (in crushed ice) and frozen fish or shell-fish.
